Governor Otu Flags Off Operation Okwok

To uphold the prevailing peace in the state and enhance the state security architecture, the governor of Cross River State, Gov. Otu has officially launched Operation Okwok, a joint task force on security.

The launch, which took place in the governor's office, witnessed the distribution of 100 trucks to immediately kickstart operations.

Speaking during the event, Governor Otu warned criminal elements to either migrate or face the law. "It's a milestone for the state. We came to meet various challenges, and security was a priority in our agenda. Today, robbery and kidnapping are a thing of the past. I reserve special commendation for my special adviser on security and the service chiefs for bringing down insecurity to the barest minimum," he stated.

Gov. Otu emphasized that the provision of infrastructure to support security efforts, along with the construction of various security bases, constitutes the first phase on initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, He reassured citizens that the state is secure.

"Cross River is today the safest subnational region. We want to assure investors that their investments are safe," he affirmed. He called on residents to collaborate with security forces by providing relevant information to help ensure peace in the state.

The event was attended by service chiefs, members of the executive council, and representatives from the State House of Assembly.
