Gov. Otu inspects road rehabilitations in Ugep, Ikom and Yala, Assures of improved road network
As road rehabilitation takes the front burner all over the state with massive rehabilitation ongoing particularly in Ugep, Ikom,Yala and Ogoja, the governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu undertook an inspection visit, Friday, to Ugep, Ikom and Yala.
For the people of Ugep, the season of sweetness has become evident with the completion of the Ugep road network. The excitement was palpable as residents came out in the numbers to thank the governor as he drove through the rehabilitated streets in Ugep.
Central to this development is the construction of standard drainages, which is crucial for effective flood control. These drainage structures are designed to mitigate flooding.
Roads completed includes Nko street, Akang Street Okoi Obla street. Other roads undergoing rehabilitation includes Hospital road, Lasagha Ina Street, Unebu street, Old Idomi road, Lusahga farm - Ijom road, Idomi road and Ekori road.
On his inspection visit to Ikom, the governor drove through the old bank road, drainage structures through the road is completed as groundwork is underway. Other roads in Ikom undergoing rehabilitation are Etomi road, Okim Osabor-Bokomo road, Mile 2 road, Sweet mother street and Nde road
In Yala, the governor inspected the Yahe-Wanokom-Wanikande road rehabilitation which has been a game changer for severally isolated communities.
The governor's drive in road rehabilitation reflects a broader vision of improving the quality of life for all residents. Inspection is expected to continue to other parts of the State
