Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has met with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Bekwarra and Ogina local government areas in continuation of his consultation and thank you tour to the northern region of the state.
At Bekwarra LGA, entourage of the APC gubernatorial candidate made a stop-over at the residence of the Ada of Bekwarra (II), Signor Omang Idiege. Sen. Otu who appreciated the Ada Of Bekwarra for his leadership role also heaped praises on the late Ada of Bekwarra, Chief Linus Okom whom he said has been his political god-father for many years
According to Sen. Otu, the late Chief Okom was one of those who strongly wanted him to be the governor of the state. He prayed for God’s wisdom for the new Ada of Bekwarra to continue to guide the people.
The gubernatorial candidate also met with Paramount rulers and chiefs of both LGAs and promised to strengthen the roles of traditional institutions when elected governor
In Ogoja LGA, one of the oldest provinces in Nigeria, Sen. Otu was received by the Paramount Ruler and traditional council, Council Chairman, political appointees, APC stakeholders, party faithfuls and several hundreds of sons and daughters of Ogoja.
Some prominent indigenes of Ogoja who spoke in the event, appreciated Sen. Otu for nominating their son, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey as his running mate and assured him of their massive support come 2023.
Highpoint of the event was the official unveiling of the leader of the state house of assembly, Rt Hon. Peter Odey as the deputy governorship candidate of the party
