As the rulling All Progressives Congress in Cross River State continues her campaigns in the northern senatorial district of the state, the campaign team today berthed in Bekwarra LGA.
Governor of the state, Ben Ayade who led the team which had the governorship candidate, Sen. Prince Otu, his deputy, Hon. Peter Odey, Hon. Legor Idagbor, state party chairman, Barr. Alphonsus Eba among others, met with the traditional rulers council and stakeholders in the LGA.
Addressing the Mammoth crowd in Abuochiche, the LGA headquarters, governorship candidate of the party, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu said he returned to Bekwarra to show them his workplan based on the last discussion he had with them in his earlier visit. "We will give jobs to our own young men and women. For the first time, Cross River will begin to give jobs to our indigenous contractors. The last time we came here to say thank you, you told me that your problem was light, the incoming administration is going to engage professionals that will look into that. I have already contracted one of your sons and he is already having meetings to put things in place.
"This is not going to be an ordinary election, it will be an election that will send message across. We will certainly win, but we need to win with a very wide margin so that next time, people will learn to wait for their turn and not jump into the cue when it is not their turn"
Also speaking, Governor Ben Ayade appreciated the people for coming out to receive the campaign team and waiting for several hours. "I cannot come here to Bekwarra and campaign. I am also a son here. My grand parents are from here so I know you will give me your full support "
Earlier, state chairman of the party', Barr. Alphonsus Eba asked the peo6to ignore the antics of PDP. "Taking a swipe at the opposition, Barr. Eba said "Ask the man who wants to be governor by all means what happened that he was sacked as commissioner. Ask their party chairman why he broke bottle and used it on the head of another person. We did not come here to talk about them because they are not our match" he said
The APC campaigns has continued to receive massive support across all LGAs in the northern senatorial district.
